OCT CAPABILITIES WITH BROADBAND FEMTOSECOND LASERS
Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) gives the possibility to imagine structures at depths up to few millimeters with a micrometer resolutions for multi-layer samples like biological tissues. It’s more often used by industry to localize invisible defects underneath the surface of manufactured parts.
Broadband femtosecond lasers can be adapted as an optical source for OCT at high acquisition rates, as the resolution of OCT is determined by the inverse bandwidth of light and spatial resolution depends on coherence length of the source.
Good beam quality, which is essential for focusing down to micrometer scales with combination of high average power, useful for high-speed imaging in frequency and Fourier domain, gives you benefits when using our Jasper lasers in your OCT configuration setup.
