Fluence Technology, Winner of the University of Warsaw Entrepreneur of the Year Competition
The University of Warsaw has organized the Entrepreneur of the Year UW Competition for the seventh time. In this year’s edition, the main award was given to Fluence Technology.
“The founders, as well as many current employees, graduated from the Faculty of Physics at the University of Warsaw. It was there that one of the company’s most important know-hows was developed – the construction of the femtosecond oscillator, of which we were the authors. Our lasers also operate at the University of Warsaw, helping scientists conduct research,” said Michał Nejbauer, CEO of Fluence Technology. “For us, innovation means being a leader in setting the direction for the development of laser technologies worldwide. We want to be an example of a company that demonstrates how to achieve success in Poland through the commercialization of technology. Moreover, we aim to create a friendly organization that is a desirable workplace and attracts top talents from Poland and abroad.”
The purpose of the competition is to promote entrepreneurship and the integration of business and science, which positively impacts the quality of life. Participants include representatives from various scientific fields.
The competition featured twelve finalists in four categories: “Master of Business,” “Innovation/Innovator of the Year,” “Social Entrepreneur,” and “Start-up of the Year.” In this year’s edition, four distinctions and two main awards were given, to Fluence Technology and Panattoni Europe.
We sincerely thank the Competition Jury for granting this prestigious award in the Innovation/Innovator of the Year category. This award is also a recognition for the Polish photonics industry.
