Fluence Oscillator as a perfect tool for two-photon microperimetry

Two-photon microperimetry is a novel technique of testing a patient’s visual field with the means of ultrafast lasers. Now it might be even easier and more accessible thanks to the study led by the Polish academic institutions.

In the paper published in the Biomedical Optics Express by Marzejon et. al, authors compare bulky and expensive solid-state laser with Fluence’s all-fiber compact Oscillator, proving the integration advantage of the all-fiber solution.

The authors write: “Furthermore, these lasers are several times less expensive and much easier to integrate into diagnostic devices because of their smaller size, less demanding cooling requirements, and fiber output, which is easy to integrate with the system’s optics. These features, in turn, support the transfer of the technique from specialized optical laboratories to clinics, ophthalmological surgeries, etc.”
