Fluence Technology plays for The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity!

The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (WOŚP) – the most important charitable event, its 32nd Grand Finale happening today throughout Poland. We are pleased to announce our support for this year’s edition of the event through a charity auction.

Our offer includes a voucher for visit to the headquarters of the Polish technology company Fluence Technology, which will take place both in Warsaw (main headquarters, including R&D department) and in Wrocław (Ultrafast Laser Application Laboratory)*.

During the visit, you will tour our laboratories, where experts will explain how advanced femtosecond laser technology works and how technology born in Poland has gained recognition worldwide.

In addition to the guided tour, you will have the opportunity to independently perform a sample using a femtosecond laser with a peak power of 1 GW! Prepare a graphic project, and then, under the guidance of our specialists, execute it in our Laboratory.

Femtosecond lasers are a type of lasers that generate laser light pulses with a duration of one quadrillionth of a second (1 femtosecond = 10^-15 s). They were awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2018. Thanks to such short pulses, it is possible to deliver a tremendous amount of energy in a very short moment to a material, which is utilized in areas such as precise laser microprocessing, scientific research, and medicine (especially in eye surgery).

These lasers enable the production of next-generation semiconductors and consumer electronics (smartwatches, smartphones with foldable displays, etc.). Femtosecond lasers are also hopeful in generating clean energy in laser-driven nuclear fusion reactors.

The production of femtosecond lasers requires advanced technologies and specialized know-how, which Dr. Michał Nejbauer (CEO), Prof. Yuriy Stepanenko (CTO), Dr. Piotr Skibiński (CEngO), and Dr. Tomasz Kardaś (CSO) have developed over the years.

After 13 years of academic experience, they founded a company that, in 8 years, opened a new path for Polish technology, recognized worldwide. Our lasers are currently operating not only in Poland and Europe but also in Australia, South Korea, Taiwan, China, and the United States.
